Multiple Teams · Bears Open With Liberty Invitational

The William Chrisman cross country team got the season started on Saturday with the 2.1 mile Liberty Invitational at Stocksdale Park on Saturday.

Trey Dumas led the way for the varsity boys with a 37th place finish and Lilly Conner-Urnise finished 32nd for the girls.

It might not have been the best day for the varsity runners, but the JV and C-Team Bears did put in several PRs.

“I was disappointed with the varsity times because they had put the work in to be better and it just didn’t happen,” coach Jason Stacy said. “The younger kids, though, far exceeded my expectations and goals for them. I am excited about the improvement and potential.”

The Bears run again Thursday at the Oak Grove Invitational at Frick Park.

“This is a big opportunity for our varsity kids,” Stacy said. “I am excited to see them regroup and every varsity runner has a chance to medal.
