Multiple Teams · Chrisman Cross Country Opens at Tim Nixon Invitational

The William Chrisman boys and girls cross country teams began their seasons with the inaugural Tim Nixon Invitational, held at the new Wildfire Course, just west of Liberty North High School.

The event featured 27 teams and more than 1,000 runners providing great competition for the Bears to begin their season. After a lightning delay to begin the day, the varsity Divisional races were combined, forcing large fields and extremely tough competition.

Senior Lilly Conner-Urnise led a trio of Chrisman girls in the varsity race as she finished 28th. The varsity boys featured three running their first ever 5k to go along with transfer Alijah Twaddell, who led the Bears with a 34th place finish. Junior Tanner Jolley was 42nd and freshman Kimori Pointer began his career by taking 47th.

In the JV two-mile race, sophomore Raigan Keltner led the Chrisman girls, taking 60th out of 255 runners, and freshman Kona Hudson led for the boys, taking 72nd out of 298 runners.

The Bears are back in action on Thursday at the Oak Grove Invitational at Bent Oak Park.
