Boys Varsity Basketball · Bears Open Season and Falcon Fieldhouse with a Win

Marcus Wigfall gets out front for an easy 2 points.

November 20 was a date for which the Bears basketball team had waited for a long time, 264 days to be exact. The Bears ended their 2017-2018 season with a loss in the district championship game to Liberty High School on March 1. The Bears put in a lot of work in the off-season and it showed on Tuesday evening.

The Bears fell down 8-0 to begin the game to a very energetic Falcon team. Coming out of the timeout the Bears took control of the game. From that point on the Bears scored 36 of the next 41 points to take a 36-13 lead into halftime. Chrisman’s defense held Van Horn scoreless for a stretch of 12 minutes and 13 seconds, which included the entire 2nd quarter.

Chrisman took care of business in a lackluster second half and won the game 63-40. It is great to start the season with a win and the Bears look forward to many more.

Next up for the Bears is the Phog Allen Invitational hosted by William Chrisman on November 29-December 1. Click the link for all of the tournament information.
