Boys Varsity Basketball · Bears Advance to State Quarterfinal Game

Sr. guard, Kelvyn Mason, led the Bears with 21 points.

What a night of basketball at the Silverstein Eye Center Arena on Wednesday. The Bears matched up with a very good Park Hill South squad that presented a big challenge in the state sectional game. The arena was spectacular and the Chrisman crowd showed up and showed out! The student section was awesome and helped set the stage for an evening to remember in William Chrisman basketball history.

The Bears were able to jump out to an early lead and never allowed Park Hill South to have a lead at any point in the game! While the Panthers came in as the highly touted team, the Bears played their team style of basketball and got an exciting overtime win to advance to the state quarterfinal game on Saturday. The Bears were led by senior guard Kelvyn Mason who scored a game high 21 points!

The Bears will play against Lee’s Summit North on Saturday at 6pm at the Silverstein Eye Center arena in Independence, MO. A generous donor has agreed to pay for EVERY CHRISMAN STUDENT THAT WANTS TO ATTEND THE GAME! Come out and cheer on the Bears as the attempt to become the 1st men’s basketball team at Chrisman to reach the Final Four since 1979.

Thanking the fans after the OT win!
