Boys Junior Varsity Field and Track & Field, Girls Junior Varsity Field and Track & Field · Chrisman Track and Field Competes at Trailblazer Invitational

The William Chrisman track and field team has a good performance at the Trailblazer Invitational at Gardner-Edgerton High School on Friday.

In a meet featuring some of the best teams in Missouri and Kansas, the Bears fared well against the tough competition as the team brought home three medalists and several top eight finishes.

Sophomore Jacque David medalled with second-place finishes in both the girls’ shot put and discus and senior Nick Puleo added his own medal with a second-place showing in the discus.

Junior Jenny David took fourth in the shot put and eighth in the discus, and freshman Cameron Beardsley had a big day with PRs in both the 100m and 200m. He finished fifth in the 100m and was part of the fifth place 4x100m relay (Beardsley, Kelvyn Mason, Tre Sisco, Jose Ramirez) as well.

In pole vault, Morgan Bauman and Wyatt Leutzinger each took sixth. The girls’ 4x100m relay of Adreal Bell, Pernya Barrett, Comfort Dweh, and Aniyeja Weathers also finished sixth.

Jolee Spinks took seventh in the girls’ triple jump and Tony Hilton was eighth in the boys’ triple jump.

The Bears are back in action on Thursday at the Suburban White Conference Meet as both the boys and girls compete for individual and team titles. The boys have not won a team title since 1976 and the girls have never won a conference title.
