The last two seasons have been exciting times in the William Chrisman basketball program. The Bears have gone to two straight district championship games. Last year the Bears won the district championship and advanced all the way to the state quarterfinal game. The varsity boys won 20 games and took the community on a fun ride. Chrisman lost a heartbreaking overtime game at the Silverstein Eye Center Arena that would have sent them to the final four.
The coaches and players are extremely proud of the accomplishments of last season, but they are ready to take the next step. The summer and fall workouts have been very focused. A group led by nine seniors has ensured that the Bears are ready to build on last season. The 2019-2020 Bears have one thing in mind, a state championship.
The Bears will be led by a very experienced group of seniors. Many of these seniors have played basketball together for nearly a decade, as they have come up through the Bears of Tomorrow program. They will get their first opportunity to hit the court on Thursday, November 21 as they travel to Park Hill High School to play in a jamboree with Park Hill, Lafayette County and Platte County. The Bears first regular season game will be a home game on Tuesday, November 26 against the Falcons of Van Horn High School. Following that, the Bears will host the 2nd annual Phog Allen Invitational presented by Blue Ridge Bank & Trust Co. on December 5-7.
The Bears would love to see you at all of the exciting games as we go on this journey together.
