Chrisman Bears effort to come back from down four runs in the sixth inning came up just short, as they fell 6-5 to Oak Park on Tuesday. Chrisman scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Leo Henderson, a, and a single by Haden Long. The Bears was right in it until Oak Park doubled in the fifth inning.
In the bottom of the third inning, Chrisman tied things up at two. Alex Smith drew a walk, scoring one run. Bears tallied three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Henderson and Long and by Alex Johnson.
Trey Kates was on the pitcher’s mound for the Bears. The lefty lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out six. Aaron Smith threw two good innings in relief.
The Bears racked up eight hits on the day. Henderson and Kona Hudson all had multiple hits for Chrisman. Bears take on Lincoln Prep at the Urban Youth Academy at 4pm Thursday, April 1st.
